GST srl, the management company of Hotel i Dammusi di Borgo Cala Creta, has implemented a Quality and Environmental Management System according to the standards required by protocols for eco-sustainable tourism in eco-friendly environments.
Our facility has adopted the criteria set by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council. This certification also provides our company with guidelines to sustainably direct the design and management of new structures and the redevelopment of existing ones.

We wanted to capture the scent of Lampedusa in a plastic-free solid cosmetics line. The task was entrusted to an artisanal laboratory that shares our environmental commitment: the marine reserve surrounding us is our home, and preserving it is our mission. We have chosen rapidly biodegradable raw materials and allergen-free fragrances because we want our products to care for both our guests and the environment. If you have never used solid cosmetics before, our Eco Courtesy Kit will pleasantly surprise you. Changing habits sometimes just requires the right opportunity. Let’s start this journey together.
At the Cala Creta Boutique, you will find our solid cosmetics, allowing you to take home the scent of the island. It is an invitation to enter our world: with small steps, all together every day, we can do a lot for the environment.
Among the concrete actions we implement:
Constant monitoring of the energy consumption of the entire facility; since 2019, the structure has been equipped with a 70 Kwh photovoltaic system, which has prevented 97,632 tons of CO2 emissions into the environment between 2019 and 2021;
• Monitoring of the facility's water consumption;
• Monitoring of the waste produced by the facility;
• Application of water flow reducers on faucets and reduced-flow buttons on all toilets;
• All courtesy kits in our facility have a low environmental impact: we use only solid Body/Face cleansers with biodegradable packaging;
• Our restaurant uses a fixed menu, allowing for more efficient raw material management and minimal waste. It is very important for us to use locally sourced products whenever possible and only seasonal fruits and vegetables.
• We promote recycling in all areas: near the reception, there are containers for sorted waste disposal.
We have chosen to use and make the best of available resources, committing ourselves every day to continuous improvement.
It is the small daily gestures that make a difference, and for this reason, we have decided to share them with you to live in a more conscious world.
• Turn off the air conditioning when you open the windows;
• Turn off the lights when they are not needed;
• Reduce water consumption by using the reduced-flow button on toilets;
• Use towels responsibly, as you would at home, to avoid unnecessary daily washing.
• Use the beach towel carefully to reduce weekly washes;
• Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth;
• Reduce the use of motor vehicles by taking advantage of the shuttles available, for which all information is provided at the reception.
But most importantly, share this choice with us and suggest any practices or procedures you know that can help us improve in this regard.
